turtl began with a family holiday to Turkey, where my wife, our 12-month-old daughter, Mila, and I visited Turtle Beach in Dalyan. The rescue center there left us shocked. We witnessed numerous loggerhead and green turtles being treated for injuries caused by fishing hooks, nets, and plastic ingestion.
It was a profound moment that inspired me to leverage my experience in the footwear industry and create a brand dedicated to fighting against ocean pollution caused by plastics, while also supporting charities committed to protecting sea turtles.

We reached out to remarkable suppliers who are market leaders in transforming waste materials into high-quality, functional textiles and rubbers. These materials became the foundation of our products.
During our search, we came across BLOOM and their revolutionary algae foam, an innovative material for our removable insoles and outsole, that aligns perfectly with our vision.
